Don’t remember The Pratchett Prayer? It looked like this:
And, in case the script is too eyewatering, it says:
Our Author
who art in England
Pratchett be thy name
Thy wisdom come, thy wit be done on Earth as it is in DiscWorld. Give us this day our daily read, and forgive us our misquotes as we forgive those who misquote against us. And lead us all into Ankh-Morpork but deliver us from Thieves’ Guild. For thine is the humour
And the satire
And the story
Forever and ever
Omen.
I crowded as many DiscWorld characters as I could into the Celtic knotwork borders. Then I sent the original to the NADWC to be put in the charity auction. It sold for $70, I was told, which went to benefit orangutan habitat preservation. Yaaay.
But there’s several terms in that prayer that I do not have permission to use, and so I was instructed (very politely; they may be lawyers, but they are British) to stop selling prints of it.
So it goes.
But this time I’m pretty sure my fan art isn’t breaking any laws. Just in case, though, if you want one, you might want to order it now.
Just sayin’.
